PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

“When you learn, teach.
When you get, give.”
—Maya Angelou, civil rights activist, poet, storyteller

I love learning and sharing what I learn. Here are the most notable and recent professional development opportunities that have refined my teaching practice:

The Master of Arts in Leadership degree program at Royal Roads University is famous for its innovative teaching and learning delivery which engages students to learn and refine their communication and conflict, systems thinking, personal mastery, team facilitation and development, learning and innovation, organizational change, and action-oriented inquiry.

• Teaching Squares Program, Winter 2017

The Teaching Circles Program provides faculty with an opportunity to gain new insight into their teaching through a process of reciprocal classroom observation and self-reflection.

• Instructional Skills Workshop, Winter 2016

The ISW is an internationally-recognized certificate program that offers faculty the opportunity to explore conditions that give rise to powerful learning experiences among students.

• Part-Time Teacher Development Program, Fall 2014

Through a series of workshops and practical, hands-on activities, this program provides participants with essential tools for teaching in the Ontario college system. It is structured to encourage networking among participants through the sharing of insights, expertise and effective solutions to common challenges.
